Guide Review - Poker Cruncher

I have purchased several poker calculators and I have also used many online. Poker Cruncher for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch is as good as and in some instances better than some that I have tried. This program is fairly fast considering the slower processor in the IPhone and Touch and it runs locally on your device so you do not need an Internet connection.

Poker Cruncher is very intuitive and easy to operate. When you start the application you are shown the spaces for two players hole cards and five blank board cards. You chose the cards to put in by touching the list at the bottom of the screen. They are listed by rank in two rows Ace through nine in the top row and seven through two on the bottom. Touching any of the ranks will bring up the four suits for that card. I.E. If you touch the A it will bring up the four aces of spades hearts clubs or diamonds. Touching one of these cards will assign it to the highlighted positions in the main screen. You have to enter two hole cards for the first player but if you leave everything else blank it will give you the calculations against random hands.

The Top Bar
Once you have the cards assigned all you have to do is touch the [calculate] tab on the top of the screen and it will calculate the hands. To add players you touch the [+player]tab and you delete players with the [-player] tab. By default the program will calculate the hands to the river but you have the option of calculating for the win percentages for just the hole cards, the flop or to the turn. You do this by touching the [Deal To] tab. Next to that is the reset tab for starting a new simulation.

When the calculations are complete you will see a chart on the bottom which shows the percentages of making various types of hands. There is a built in help screen if you have any questions or you can refer to the Poker Cruncher website for more information.
